Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Admission

Overview

This position serves the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, with its primary purpose focusing on the recruitment efforts of prospective students and ultimately helping to increase enrollment by coordinating office activities.

This position also represents the Catholic University of America community and supports the university's undergraduate student body through national enrollment management and university policies.

Responsibilities

1. Clearly communicate programs and educational opportunities available at CUA to prospective students, parents, and high school counselors (daily informational sessions...)

 

2. Interview and counsel prospective students and maintain regular contact with prospects.

 

3. Maintain open communication with Schools, departments, and offices on campus.

 

4. Read applications each year to evaluate a student’s academic and personal attributes and assess their ability to succeed at the University.

 

5. Seasonal travel for the purposes of recruitment and professional conferences.

 

6. Participate in and take a lead role in the development and implementation of special recruitment and yield programs (i.e. Junior Week, Open Houses, Honors Day, Odyssey Day, etc.) or other departmental projects
(publications, social media, secondary school relations).

 

7. Assist with the development of promotional and recruitment materials both print and online.

 

8. Pursue diversity in each incoming class. 


9. Successfully handle inquiries from walk-in visitors on a regular basis


10. Serve as a financial aid advisor to families by means of fielding questions, offering suggestions, and clarifying information.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of experience in admissions, working with admissions processes, marketing, and recruitment of students. Must have strong customer service skills and excellent communication
skills; both verbal and written are required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and familiarity with working individually as well as in a team setting.

 

Knowledge of Office, including Excel a must. Knowledge of SLATE helpful.
