The Assistant Football Coach / Recruiting Coordinator at The Catholic University of America plays a vital role in advancing the mission, culture, and competitive success of the Cardinal Football Program. This position is responsible for coaching and developing student-athletes, leading and coordinating all recruiting operations, and supporting the holistic formation of young men in alignment with the University’s Catholic intellectual tradition and values. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in leadership, organization, and relationship-building while promoting a culture of accountability, academic excellence, faith, service, and competitive integrity, all while complying with national, local, university, NCAA, and conference laws, regulations, standards, and codes.
Coaching, Training, Instruction
Perform as a professional educator and role model to enable individual students to develop as student-athletes and to work together as a successful, competitive intercollegiate team.
Strength and Conditioning
Direct the coordination of strength and conditioning programs for football student-athletes.
Recruitment
Lead the recruitment efforts of student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to be successful academically and by contributing to the football program.
Academic Oversight
Mentor and monitor the academic success of the student-athletes
Compliance
Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Landmark, ODAC, and conference laws, regulations, standards and codes. (Note: The violation of NCAA and conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination).
Equipment Room
Provide staffing assistance in the equipment room.
Supervision
Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate student staff. Assist in overseeing the use of the weight room by football student-athletes.
Special Events
Be involved with and/or supervise special events (i.e. recruiting, alumni events etc.) Serve as communication contact for the football coach as needed (when directed by the head coach or when the head coach is unavailable).
A bachelor's degree with a minimum of two 2 years of coaching experience at the college level is preferred.
