The assistant men’s basketball coach assists with the leadership and directives of an intercollegiate NCAA
Division III men’s basketball program. Duties include taking a lead role in on court instruction, academic
mentoring, personal development, and leadership development of student athletes; working in concert with the
head coach to oversee the team's local, domestic, and when applicable, international community
engagement, service and outreach; and help oversee the planning and implementation of the team's in
and out of season travel goals, with an emphasis on cultural engagement and learning. This position will
assist in the organization and administration of the team's youth camp and clinical programs.
5. Budget Planning, Fiscal Management and Travel Coordination: Assist with
sound business and financial management in areas including but not limited to
expenses, operating budgets, procurement of goods, services and equipment while
also organizing and supervision of all team related travel in conjunction with the
head coach.
6. Compliance/Certification: Ensure compliance with national, local, university,
NCAA, Landmark Conference, regulations, standards and codes. (Note: The
violation of NCAA and conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary
action up to and including termination).
7. Academic Oversight: Mentor and monitor the academic success of the student-
athletes.
8. Social Media & Content Creation: Lead in the creation of social media content and
the management of social media accounts to promote the men’s basketball program.
9. Special Events and Alumni Engagement: Provide support for large departmental
and programmatic events (i.e., Senior Athlete Celebration) while also consistently
connecting with program and institutional alumns to maintain sound relationships
between all parties.
10. Strength & Conditioning: Assist with strength & conditioning initiatives,
programming, and supervision for the men’s basketball program.
Bachelor's degree. Must have proven success coaching at the collegiate and/or club level.
Ideal candidate has 2-3 years of coaching collegiate men’s basketball.
