Assistant Director for Facilities, Operations, & External Rentals

Overview

Support the Assistant AD for Facilities and Operations with the management of external facility rentals, DuFour Center operations and facilities, student employment, and event management.

 

Perform services to support an active, student-oriented campus environment while complying with national, local, university, NCAA and conference laws, regulations, standards and codes.

 

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $50,000-55,000

Responsibilities

  • External Rental Group Management: Work collaboratively with the Assistant AD for Facilities and Operations, and other campus offices as necessary, to schedule and coordinate external rental groups and organizations for the use of the DuFour Athletic Center facilities.
  • Event Management: Serve (or designate/train someone to serve) as on-site manager for select home athletic contests and events.
  • DuFour Center Management: Support Assistant AD for Facilities and Operations in ensuring that there is proper staffing and appropriate operational procedures for the DuFour Center throughout the year.
  • Scheduling: Assist in maintaining master schedule for the Athletic Department, including home contests, practices, intramurals, club sports, recreational activities, and external groups.
  • Student Employment Supervision: Assist in the hiring of students to work for the athletic department, staffing DuFour and game days, and submitting timesheets to payroll on a biweekly basis.
  • Grounds and Maintenance Liaison: Provide additional support as needed for facilities/grounds personnel regarding the timely care and maintenance of CUA athletic facilities.
  • Budget: Work collaboratively with the Assistant AD for Facilities and Operations and Assistant AD for Business on external group operations, including sending invoices, collecting rental fees, paying facility rental expenses, and annual revenue projections.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Landmark, and conference laws, regulations, standards and codes (Note: The violation of NCAA and conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • One or two years of practical experience in athletics facility operations and management, and/or an understanding of the intercollegiate athletics landscape and its operational responsibilities is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications - Word, Office, Excel, etc.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Ability to relate effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Ability to work professionally and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to be productive, deliver high quality work, take initiative, use good judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to generate the confidence and trust of individuals and the extended campus community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, heavy workloads under pressure and within deadlines.
