Associate Head Coach of Track & Field / Assistant Coach of Cross Country

Overview

The Associate Head Track & Field Coach / Assistant Cross Country Coach -- Throws will partner with the Director of Cross Country / Track and Field in various areas of responsibility including the recruitment of student-athletes, meet-day organization, ordering equipment, viable fund-raising, public relations and other duties as assigned by either the Director or Director of Athletics.

 

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is up to $53,000.

Responsibilities

  • Help create an overall positive and successful environment for the student-athletes of the cross country and track and field programs.
  • Help foster a team culture that is focused and driven to succeed academically and athletically, while serving the community.
  • Provide oversight and evaluation of the daily progress of the throws student-athletes, including strength training, conditioning, and student-athlete academic, personal, and athletic development.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of practice, competitions, travel, equipment, paperwork, and any other administrative duties set forth by the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA and college policies and procedures
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the coaching staff and athletic department as a whole.
  • Assist other staff members with activities as needed to reach the overall competitive and recruitment goals.
  • Monitor the academic progress and development of student-athletes
  • Conduct and supervise athletically related activities for distance training groups daily.
  • Assisting with the monitoring and creating content on social media.
  • Assist in all fundraising and community service opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and AED training.
  • Competitive coaching background.
  • Must have a strong commitment to safety and welfare of student-athletes.
  • Ability to work on weekends, evenings, and odd hours.
  • College-level coaching experience preferred.
  • Area of expertise in the throwing events
