Overview

The Office of Undergraduate Admission represents The Catholic University of America community and works to select and enroll an undergraduate student body based on national enrollment management and university policies. Promote the academic, social, and spiritual benefits of The Catholic University of America community in order to recruit a student body for the university based on national enrollment management and university policies. 

 

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: up to $51,000. 

Responsibilities

Serve as a resource for other members of the staff. Research, schedule, and attend an average of 150 annual recruiting visits so that we may build an applicant pool. Read an average of 600 applicants per year to evaluate each student’s academic and personal attributes assess their ability to succeed at the university. Conduct information sessions an average of 2 times per week to increase each family’s knowledge base and interest in the university. Correspond with students and their families on a daily basis in regards to each student’s application status. Support the planning of key recruitment and yield programs to that students will choose to matriculate at The Catholic University of America (i.e. Cardinal Visit Week, Open House, Honors Day, Odyssey Day, etc.). Act as a liaison for a particular United States region/territory for students, their parents, counselors, and other independent educational organizations.

 

Interview students to assess their compatibility with the university and prepare a small report on each student. Write and track evaluations of each high school visit or college fair and its effectiveness so that recruitment efforts can continue to be streamlined. Listen to campus groups to learn more about the university and recognize student achievement and share this information with prospective families.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree and experience in an undergraduate admission office – either as a student or professional staff member. Must have strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and familiarity with working individually as well as in a team setting. Spanish language fluency a plus. Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint needed. PeopleSoft and TargetX experience preferred. Effective communications skills a must, broad understanding marketing helpful. The ability to drive a vehicle (campus or non-campus) on behalf of university business.

 

Possession of current and valid U.S. driver’s license appropriate to the type of university vehicle and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) as stipulated in the Vehicle Guidelines and Procedures Manual administered through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety. Annual clearance of MVR check through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.
