Campus Visit Counselor

Overview

Serve as the public facing point of contact of the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Coordinate communication to the primary office's email and voicemail account. Coordinate prospective student and group visits to the University. Serve as a member of the supervisory team of paid student tour guides and Admission Fellows. Assist in planning and coordination of campus events such as Cardinal Preview Day, Odyssey Day, and Open Houses. Serve as an at-large admission counselor to recruit and evaluate applicants as needed to support the universities recruitment and enrollment objectives. 

 

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: up to $51,000. 

Responsibilities

Facilitate an optimal campus visit experience for individual and group visitors to campus on behalf of the office of ugrd admission and the university welcome center. Coordinate visit opportunities such as information sessions, tours, and interviews for individual prospective students or groups. Serve as member of supervisory team of paid student tour guides and Admission Fellows. Interview and select new members of these groups and coordinate their responsibilities. Coordinate responses to email and phone inquiries by responding personally or forwarding to the appropriate staff or community member. Correspond with students and their families on a daily basis in regards to each student’s application status or general inquiries. Support the planning of key recruitment and yield programs to that students will choose to matriculate at The Catholic University of America (i.e. Open House, Cardinal Preview Day, Odyssey Day, etc.), as well as serving as a liaison for school/departmental specific programming (i.e. Shadow Days, Class with a Cardinal, etc). Serve as an at large admission counselor (rather than territory specific) by giving information sessions, traveling for recruitment purposes and evaluating applications so support as needed. Greet and coordinate day of visit activities for prospective students and families and school groups. Help to coordinate Admission Fellow blog and social media posts. Other job related duties as assigned (social networking, literature, facilities requests, etc.). Coordinate purchasing of necessary office supplies, technology, and equipment.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree and experience in an undergraduate admission office – either as a student or professional staff member. Must have strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and familiarity with working individually as well as in a team setting. Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint needed. PeopleSoft and TargetX experience preferred. Effective communications skills a must, broad understanding of the admission field is helpful.
