Associate Dean of Undergraduate Admissions

Overview

The Office of Undergraduate Admission represents The Catholic University of America community and works to select and enroll an undergraduate student body based on national enrollment management and university policies. Serving in the Office of Undergraduate Admission and reporting to the Dean, this position is integral to the recruitment and admission efforts of prospective undergraduate students and ultimately contributes to enrollment by operating as the Communications and Marketing lead and manager of CRM messaging channels. The Associate Dean will serve a direct supervisory role to 1-3 junior staff member/s. 

Responsibilities

Lead and direct the marketing and communication channels delivered via CRM to support recruitment and operations of the undergraduate admission office. Lead and direct the Office of Undergraduate Admission’s social media efforts across any related applications. Maintain and monitor the universities external online profiles across any application, platform or service engaged by the office of undergraduate admission to support the recruitment of prospective students. Assist the Dean in coordinating and organizing all marketing and communication projects with relevant internal (i.e. ugrd admission) and external stakeholders ( i.e vendors.) Serve as the office lead in the update and design of marketing and communication content for use in multiple channels, including the print portfolio for undergraduate admissions. Accurately communicate the programs and educational opportunities available at Catholic University to prospective students, parents, and high school counselors. Serve as the primary CatholicU Admission liaison for a recruitment territory to be determined by the Dean. Travel for the purposes of recruitment, professional conferences, and high school workshops on college admission. Interview and counsel prospective students and maintain regular contact with prospects. Serve as the lead marketing and communication point of contact for undgrd admission with University Marketing and Communication, Enrollment System and Operations, or any office engaged in communicating with prospective students. Review applications for all deadlines to evaluate a student’s academic and personal attributes and assess their ability to succeed at the University. 

 

Work with offices and departments across campus to plan and coordinate prospective student events. Conduct information sessions an average of two times per week to increase visiting family’s knowledge base and interest in the University. Share basic financial aid information with families by means of fielding questions, offering suggestions, and clarifying merit and need-based information. 

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree and five to eight years of experience in admission, higher education, or school-based college counseling, working with admission processes, and recruitment of students, or counseling students through the college search and selection process on the high school side. Master’s degree a plus.

 

Experience with a higher education CRM (TargetX or Slate preferred). Must have strong customer service ethic and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and familiarity with working individually as well as in a team setting. Excellent communications skills required, broad understanding of marketing and social media helpful. TargetX or Slate, Microsoft Office Access, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint. PeopleSoft experience a plus.

 

The ability to drive a vehicle (on and off-campus) on behalf of university business.


Possession of current and valid U.S. driver’s license appropriate to the type of university vehicle and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) as stipulated in the Vehicle Guidelines and Procedures Manual administered through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety. Annual clearance of MVR check through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.
