Immersive Clinical Education Product Manager

Overview

The functions of the Conway School of Nursing (CSON) are to offer undergraduate and graduate master’s, DNP, and PhD programs to a) prepare professionally educated nurses who are capable of the moral, intellectual, and professional leadership needed to provide continuing quality in clinical nursing care, in nursing education, in nursing research and in nursing service, and b) to advance nursing knowledge and skill through scientific inquiry and other scholarly activity.

 

The Immersive Clinical Education Product Manager guides and manages the lifecycle for the clinical education products using immersive technologies designated by the Dean and developed by the CSON faculty. Develops product concepts and designs to facilitate the needs and user requirements as defined by the CSON and their partners. Will partner with both internal and 3rd party Project Managers to coordinate the functional design and technical development, to include defining and executing statements of work with external vendors. The Product Manager reports to the Dean of the School and collaborates with faculty and staff contributing to the virtual clinical education product development.

 

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $106,399 - $115,000. 

Responsibilities

  • Guides and manages the lifecycle for the clinical education products.
  • Develops product concepts and designs to facilitate the needs and user requirements define by the faculty.
  • Oversees research and development activities and maintains a good understanding of the target audience’s needs, new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors.
  • Develops required documents, functional specifications, and mock-ups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts.
  • Participates in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products and introducing products to the market.
  • Engages in repeated testing of clinical educational products as they are developed to ensure quality control in the products.
  • Manages the storage of assets developed as part of product development (i.e., digital images of patients, hospital rooms and equipment.
  • Works with Tech Services to ensure back-up of clinical educational products to avoid loss related to unanticipated system failures.
  • Provides monthly and final reports on progress towards achieving deliverables in the statement of work with the vendor(s) supporting product development.
  • Serves as liaison between external vendors and Tech Services staff and faculty when needed to plan for deployment of educational products within the CUA learning management system (LMS).
  • Serves as liaison between external vendors and CUA faculty to ensure that faculty input and vendor response occurs in a timely manner and informs Dean of any barriers to progress.
  • Coordinates communication with CSON clinical partners in developing the educational products.
  • Oversees requisitions related to the clinical education project development and tracks all costs related to product development.

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree. Experience with clinical nursing or hospital environments as a subject matter expertise is a plus. Experience working with Agile development methodologies is a plus. Basic knowledge of virtual reality and Web-GL-based three-dimensional product development. Knowledge of clinical environments from working in these environments. Database management skills.

Negotiation and arbitrations skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
